Here you'll find my side projects, things I like to do asiade of drawing and coding. I'll mostly show you my crafts (like sweing and ebrodery), gardening and modding stuff. I like to try and do a lot of things in my free time so you'll find everything here, and I'll eventually sort them for themes.
Click on a card to see more photos and details of each projects without leaving the page! You'll find all the guides and specific I used/did. Hope it's helpful!

📚 Kindle Jailbreaking
The first project I’d like to share is about my Kindle — a device I managed to modify and finally make my own. ✨
If you’ve ever owned a Kindle, you probably know how restrictive it is. It can’t really be customized or tweaked, and it only supports Amazon’s proprietary file formats. In short: it’s a closed ecosystem.
What I did was perform a jailbreak — a modification that removes Amazon’s limitations and unlocks full control over the device.
Since February of this year, it’s no longer possible to download the original files of Kindle books you’ve purchased. Basically, if I buy a book from Amazon, I can only read it through the Kindle app or the device itself — I can’t download the file or use it on other e-readers.
That didn’t sit well with me.
The modification process took time (around two or three hours) and a lot of patience. It wasn’t easy — especially since I was working with an older model — and there were moments when I almost gave up. But in the end, it worked!
Now I have a fully customizable Kindle.
I was able to recover all the eBooks I had purchased and organize them in my personal library using the free program Calibre.
I can now read any file format, even PDFs, with zero restrictions. 💜
I truly recommend this to anyone who owns a Kindle — it’s empowering to finally have full control over your own digital purchases.
Kobo devices don’t have this problem, by the way; they’re far more open and flexible. Kindle, on the other hand, is locked down in so many ways.
🔒 But why go through all this trouble?
The main reason is simple: to reclaim real ownership of what we buy digitally.
When we purchase a digital book, game, or album, we’re not actually buying the product — we’re just renting a license to use it.
If a company decides to revoke that license, we lose access, even though we paid for it. We never truly own it.
That’s why jailbreaking my Kindle felt meaningful to me — not just out of convenience, but as a matter of principle.
I want real access to the things I purchase.
And whenever possible, I still choose physical copies: a CD, a DVD, a printed book, or a beautiful collector’s box set. 🎀
Digital subscriptions are convenient, but they give us no real control.
It’s one of those aspects of modern life that quietly frustrates me.
Thankfully, I’ve noticed more and more people are going back to physical media — a small yet powerful act of resistance. 🌸
It’s definitely not for the weak — it took me about three hours to figure out how to do it properly (maybe because my model is pretty old).
I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re familiar with modding or comfortable tinkering with devices.

🎮 Modding my 3DS
Following the same mindset, I also decided to modify my Nintendo 3DS.
The console is pretty old now, and the official eShop has been permanently shut down — but luckily, there’s a mod that brings it back to life! ✨
With this modification, you can:
• Fully customize your console
• Download and play any game ever released for the 3DS
• Access an amazing historical game library
Compared to the Kindle jailbreak, this one was much easier — it took me less than an hour!
Even downloading and managing the games is super simple. 💾
It’s a fantastic option for anyone who loves retrogaming or wants to rediscover titles that are now hard to find (or too expensive in physical form).
Plus, you can install custom themes for free — something the original system only offered as paid content. 🎀
I created a small corner with a raised planter, where in the bottom layer I put expanded clay, then soil specifically for aromatic plants and vegetables, and some reused soil from other herbs.
At the moment, I’ve planted:
Calabrian chili peppers
Sage
Rosemary
Basil
If all goes well, I’ll soon plant some parsley too.
I also used a bit of rooting fertilizer to help them stick to the ground 🌱
